Rêve Bohème play modern Jazz in the spirit of Django Reinhardt and Le Quintette du Hot Club de France. In addition to playing regular concerts, schools-concerts and giving lectures about Django Reinhardt, Rêve Bohème have also performed at international festivals such as the Django Festival 2001/2002 in Sweden, the Oslo Django Reinhardt Festival 2001, the Wilhelmshafen Django Festival 2001/2002 in Germany, Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2000-2008 and the famous Django Festival in Samios sur Seine 2002.

The repertoire of the band is lively and outgoing and contains standards from jazz and Gypsy music plus their own compositions and, of course, songs by Django Reinhardt. You can hear the music on Rêve Bohème debut-cd Django Jalousie which was released in august 2002.

History:
The band Rêve Bohème made its debut in the winter of 1998 in the well-known gypsy jazz restaurant Bistro d'Eustache in Paris. Why this happened in Paris and not in Copenhagen is a long story - so here is the short version.
In 1998 Jens Fuglsang was in Paris to by a guitar and at the same time do some research about Django Reinhardt for a thesis that he was writing. Because of this he had been approached to give a lecture about Django Reinhardt in the Danish Church in Paris. Instead of just talking a bit and playing a few records Jens decided to put together a band in order to play the music live. In addition to the "music lecture" the group managed to play two dates at the Bistro D'Eustache and the Café Atmosphere - both of which are well known for their Gypsy jazz. The trip was great success and during long trip home Rêve Bohème decided to become a "real" band. The name, which means the dream of the gypsy, is taken from an old French waltz written by the accordionist, Jo Privat.

Rêve Bohème debutised at the famous jazz-restaurant Bistro d'Eustache in Paris, 1999. Since then they have been touring and performed with gypsy jazz artists like Basily, Robin Nolan, Paulus Schäfer, Gary Potter, Hot Club Norvege, Andreas Öberg, Biel Ballester and Danish jazz greats like Kristian Jørgensen, Jacob Fischer, Pierre Dørge..and many others.
